With an increased capacity required for the washplant air system our client required to upgrade to larger Air Compressors. This project required JNI to install parallel cabling to the existing supply cables, this presented a few potential issues, as the plant would remain fully operational during the installation.
Once safe working methods were established and implemented, we were able to commence works. This project required cable installations from the MCC to be done as preliminary works for plant shutdown days, with further cable to be installed to the Air Compressors on the day of the shutdowns. All termination of the new cables and installation of new 300KW LCS (Local Control Station) units being installed on the day.
This project required all major works to be done in shutdown conditions and under the tightest of time schedules.
